Testimonials from CTT's client Calmar Pain Relief Clinic in North Providence, RI:

From "Mrs. R.A.":

. . . In 2004, I took a bad fall and for the last three years I have been in constant pain. I was treated at a hospital and was referred to an orthopedic doctor. The doctor ordered an MRI and found that I have a little mass between the L4 and L5. Due to my history of cancer and my family history of cancer, I was referred to an orthopedic back surgeon. The surgeon explained to me that because the mass is small, surgery would not be appropriate . . . further stating that if the mass were to grow, surgery would then be considered. Consequently, he referred me to the physical therapy and treated me with pain medication. With that, I had some relief, however the pain was still there and I grew tired of doctor visits.

In 2007, the pain was intolerable. I started getting muscle spasms and cramps in my legs, stomach, arms and face. When the spasms started on my tongue, I got scared. . . . At times, my stomach would cramp so badly that I would scream from the pain. My primary doctor referred me to a neurologist at Rhode Island Hospital and the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. I went through several tests, including a muscle biopsy, spinal tap and a nerve biopsy. I was treated with Daptrolen and Neurontin from 2007 to 2009. In November of 2008, I ended up in the hospital for twelve days, I could not move from my waist down. I was in a wheel chair, then started walking with a walker and finally with a cane. I had physical therapy from that time until August 2009. I was referred to a physiatrist to manage the pain. He treated me with Avinza, 30 mg once a day and he administered three epidural injections. I was getting desperate and could not tolerate the pain any more. While in treatment with the neurologist, I spoke with a social worker who diagnosed me with depression and told me I was having panic attacks. The thing was, that the neurologist spoke with the physiatrist and they concluded that I was only looking for drugs. I felt insulted and angry. My last appointment with the physiatrist was in August of 2009 and that was when once again I decided not to take any medications and deal with the pain. I was in pain 24 hours a day. I deprived myself of a good night's sleep. Activities that I used to enjoy with my husband, children and grandchildren were a thing of the past. I could not attend Sunday mass. I could not sit for even five minutes.

One Monday morning I was at work and I was in so much pain that I put my head down and said to myself, "I cannot continue with this pain, I do not know what else to do." I called my husband and asked him "what should I do?" He did not know what to say or what else to do for me. The same week, my daughter-in-law told me about the treatments you were administering to patients with chronic pain. I was a little skeptical at the beginning, but I decided to try anyway. I have to tell you that by the third treatment I was released from that evil pain.

Finally, thanks to you and the treatments, I am planning a trip with my husband at the end of February, beginning of March. We are celebrating our 40th anniversary. I have been playing, dancing with my grandchildren and running after my fluffy dog. I only hope that you can continue helping people like me, when doctors do not know what else to do for them. I want others to know that there is hope and life free from pain.

From "SGT C.T.:"

I would like to sincerely thank you and your team for the professional and kind treatment you have provided for me during my stay here. Ya'll have gone out of your way to make us feel like we were almost members of the family.

For those that may be considering treatment, let me provide you with a bit of my own background and how the treatment has helped me.

I am a 32-year old soldier. In March of 2007, while I was stationed in Germany I had surgery to stop the progression of a previously diagnosed disorder.

I have been suffering from chronic pain and headaches for 3 years. I have been prescribed many different types of pain medications, but they did not take the pain away. I had been taking ibuprofen to the point that I had damaged my small intestine. The doctors switched me to acetaminophen and I took that until I had noticeable damage to my liver. I had tried many different forms of alternative pain relief, some of which took some pain away, but none of which took all of it away.

When I started the Calmare treatment I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, but after the very first treatment, all of may pain was gone. I was simply amazed! Not only did the pain go away completely, but it stayed away for much longer than I expected. I am very happy with the results I have received from therapy.

Because of you I can continue on my daily living again and also continue on in my military career!

Thank you so much!

From "Dr. W.P.:"

I have suffered form chronic lower back pain for over 5 years. I underwent L4-L5 laminectomy in 2007 which was unsuccessful. After five treatments of Calmar therapy, I can attest to substantial improvement not only regarding my lumbar and sciatic pain but my overall lower extremity strength as well. I also suffered from right foot drop which has improved as well. I am very grateful that due to your treatments, not only has my unremitting pain been greatly relieved, but my overall quality of life and mobility has also improved.

From "Ms. D.:"

I have been suffering with bursitis pain in my left hip and pain and numbness in my lower left leg (calf) and foot for the past three years. This is the result of stenosis in my lumbar spine affecting my sciatic nerve. The quality of my life has been affected by this pain - I could not climb stairs, get up off a chair, stand in one spot for any length of time, exercise or even take a fifteen-minute walk to the end of my street without limping back. I was also having trouble sleeping at night, especially if I tried to position myself on either side. I have had six lumbar epidural injections and two cortisone shots in my hip, none of which helped to ease the pain for very long.

After just one treatment, I was able to stand much straighter and not limp. The other immediate result that I had was a better night's sleep without tossing and turning from hip pain. After ten treatments, along with another cortisone shot in my hip, I have been about eighty-percent pain free. I have been able to climb stairs, get up from sitting in a chair with no problem, and take that fifteen-minute walk up and down my street without limping! I am looking forward to getting back to an exercise routine. But right now, I am enjoying just normal living and moving - Thank you, Dr. D'Amato!

From "Ms. L.A.:"

I had a chronic painful sensation in my arm for almost two years. I decided to try Calmar Pain Relief therapy provided by Dr. D'Amato and was amazed that after just two treatments I was pain free.

I am planning to come back to Dr. D'Amato's office soon as I need to start treatments for pain in my leg.

I would like to thank Dr. D'Amato for helping me with my chronic pain that I thought I would be living with every day. I would also like to thank his staff as I found them very caring and supportive.

From "Ms. I:"

I came to the urgent care clinic with severe sciatic pain running up and down my leg into my foot. I felt like I was walking on a live wire. This was my second time in 4 weeks. Dr. D'Amato mentioned a new procedure he was doing and suggested I try it. He explained to me what it was, I was a little skeptical about it, but decided to try it. The first 3 visits didn't do much for me but after my 4th visit I felt almost normal.

From "Ms. B.G.:"

I was diagnosed with Neuro Endocrine Carcinoid when I was 67 years old. I began to develop severe abdominal and right upper quadrant pain that I could not live comfortably with. On a scale of 0 to 10, I was a 20. After 2 days of Calmar Therapy treatments, I slept through the night with no pain. I was able to eat my meal without pain and had normal bowel movements after discontinuing narcotic medications. From my own personal experience I can attest to the beneficial effects of Calmar Therapy. I did not think I would be free of pain for the holidays. I am totally free of pain and will enjoy the time with my family. Without Dr. D'Amato's knowledge and expertise of Calmar Therapy this would not be accomplished. Dr. D'Amato's nurses Lynne and Kelly are outstanding. They are kind, caring and knowledgeable. With their assistance it made my treatments very comfortable. Again I cannot thank Dr. D'Amato enough for this great invention, which without it I would not have been able to live my life in comfort.

Testimonials from CTT:

Indication - Stage 4 Cancer and Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

From "Ms. G.L.:"

This treatment helped me to cope with the pain since I cannot take any pain medicine. It's a godsend. It's a miracle that it actually helped me without taking medication since I have an allergic reaction to all medications. I cannot even have chemotherapy with stage 4 cancer. This device helped me endure the pain. I cannot tell you enough how it helped with the pain with no side effects like medication.

From "Ms. M.M.:"

My pain from the cancer was at least a 10 and these treatments completely removed all pain. I did not need any pain medication.

Indication - Failed Back Surgery

From "Mr. P.S.:"

My pain went from a level of 7 to 8 to a 1 to 2 on average. I found that I can do more without the resistance of pain. I lowered my pain medication and was able to go to the gym and work out as I did before. I am still feeling the positive effects from the last treatment I had which was on August 28, 2009.

From Ms. N.P.:"

I was very satisfied with the treatments. I get around much better after treatments. I lowered my pain medication intake since I did not need as much. I got a better quality of life from these treatments and would like to continue.

Indication - Sciatic Pain

From "Mr. J.M.:"

I have been suffering from severe pain. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 10. After treatment it was about a 2. I am sleeping better and have been pain free for over 3 weeks now.

Indication - Post-Herpetic Neuralgia

From "Ms. H.N.:"

I had nerve pain for about 5 years, and it has been getting progressively worse and worse. I heard about this device, and we drove to Connecticut for three treatments to see if it worked. After these treatments I was able to cook again and do things that I have not been able to do. After three treatments I was pain free for 48 hours. I would love to have the full course of treatments, but I had to return home.

The TENS device and medication has not helped. Nothing else has worked except for your pain device. Please, please come to New Hampshire so that I may receive the full course of treatments. Look what it did after three treatments!

Indication - Knee Pain

From "Ms. E.M.:"

I am a 60-year old guidance counselor for a local high school. My right ankle has no cartilage and is just bone on bone. I will be having an ankle replacement in April. In the interim I wanted to walk more to lose weight before the surgery. I am more of aware of the pain in my right knee, which was overshadowed by the pain in my right ankle. I had a knee scraping to remove broken cartilage a few years ago. I am not feeling any pain whatsoever in my ankle. I noticed a reduction of pain after the first treatment in my right knee. I am more mobile now, and I don't have to think and plan the way I am going to walk in a particular area and compensate for it to save steps.

It's uplifting. I was depressed before. This device has helped me a lot. This should be available to everyone in pain. It's a shame that it's not.

From "Mr. D.L.:"

I had all the cartilage removed from my right knee, and I have pain in the inside portion of my leg near my knee. The pain has gone away when I palpate the area. My walking has improved a lot. I refuse to get a knee replacement, and this device has helped me make that decision.

From "Ms. B.M.:"

I had a right lateral meniscus tear and was scheduled for knee surgery before my treatments with this device. The pain is gone. I can walk pain free. I cancelled the surgery.

Indication - Phantom Limb Syndrome

From "Mr. A.S.:"

I was driving my car with my fiancée as the passenger and was hit head on by a drunk driver. It was determined during the investigation that the driver hit us at approximately 70 mph. I was severely injured. After 12 surgeries and unbearable pain, I agreed to have my right leg amputated below the knee.

I have been taking morphine and methadone to help with the pain. The medications do not help that much, especially when I am sitting and lower my stump.

My best friend was participating in the annual American Pain Society convention in Tampa, where I live. He spoke with Competitive Technologies, Inc. employees about the non-invasive pain device. He explained my story to them.

I left work and came to the Tampa Convention Center and was treated for 45 minutes on the pain device. I kept lowering my stump to see if I had any pain and was astonished to find that I did not have any pain or burning. After the treatment I actually walked around for one hour. I felt good that night and had no pain. I took advantage of having no pain and walked more than I should. By the next afternoon the pain had returned.

I can honestly say that I have not been pain free since before my accident. I want one of these devices. I want to be treated again. Anyone with pain should have this device to lead a normal life without having to take the medications, which make them numb and sleepy.
